A Styled Winter Elopement at Archer Farms

I spent the weekend photographing two chic winter elopements, styled by women and veteran run businesses, at the newest premiere wedding and events center on the Oregon coastline, Archer Farms in North Bend.

I recently met Angela, the owner of Archer Farms, after she posted to a local Facebook forum inviting photographers to visit her property for family and engagement photography. I was so happy to get to know her, bask in her enthusiastic spirit, and hear all about her story and inspiration for the Farm. We became fast friends, and began swapping ideas for the future of our businesses and community. I'm so thrilled to be supporting her vision to bring a sustainable farm and market, and wedding and events center to the Coos Bay / North Bend region.

I have been wanting to expand my photography into more intimate couples and engagement sessions, and after this styled shoot, I have fallen in love with elopements! When we first started talking about doing a styled shoot out on the farm, we originally thought about just bringing out a couple as models, but it didn't take long for our creative natures to take over. We went from planning this ourselves with Gabrielle Colton, another talented photographer in our area, to including 10 different women businesses owners in our community.

Elopement One: Rustic Bohemian

Featuring Bree and Tracey

We really wanted to showcase how versatile the Barn and surrounding natural areas of Archer Farms can be. For the bohemian winter look, I wanted there to be a soft color palette, mixed with a bold rust red that would accent the overall natural tones of the venue. Adding the broad hat to Bree's outfit, and a more casual button up for Tracey, created that perfect touch of anon-trend relaxed vibe, while still creating a romantic elopement setting.

Elopement Two: Traditional Holiday

Featuring Abby and Tyler

For Abby and Tyler we wanted a more traditional holiday feel, that was elegant and classic. Tyler wore traditional black slacks and a tie, while Abby was draped in a luxurious fur stole and red lips that gave dramatic old Hollywood vibes. The deep burgundy tones of the florals lent a moody vibe that elevated the holiday theme.

WILDFLOUR CAFE AND CATERING

Tara and John from Wildflour Cafe and Catering created the most luxurious artisanal grazing board I have ever seen. It spanned the majority of the table, and was elevated on a custom piece of hand cut myrtle wood. Every dish and hors d'oeuvre they served were beautifully made. They focused on small portions, perfect for an intimate elopement style wedding.

THE TIPSY WILLOW

The Tipsy Willow, formally a horse trailer, is a chic mobile bar that is an absolute must for your next wedding or event. Fresh air events will be a staple of the 2021 wedding season, and Natalie will do an incredible job serving your guests! A signature cocktail, like the "Archer Farms Hippie Mule" adds flair to the memories of your special day.

MACS Macramé & Sweet Gems Bakery

Thank you so much to both of these talented artists. Their contributions to our styled shoot added that last touch of beauty to really turn the Archer Farms barn into an elopement. Mikayla's dramatic creation turned our wedding arch into a bohemian fairy tale, while Jalaika's naked cake made the holiday elopement so much more special.
